Strength and durability are qualities which applied equally to machinery manufactured by A Kinghorn & Company. For the best part of 90 years Press Brakes, Guillotines and other Sheet Metal Forming Machinery including STECO Plate Working Machines, Rolls, Presses, and Section Bending Machines etc were manufactured at the works in Todmorden, Lancs. From the end of World War II over 6000 machines were produced and sold all over the world. There are still in excess of 1200 machines spread over the length and breadth of the UK.
The words strength and durability can still be used to describe Kinghorn Machinery nearly 100 years after the company was originally formed, however it is now a wholly owned subsidiary of CRESCENT MACHINERY Limited who took over the business in 2001 and owns the intellectual property rights, the drawings for Kinghorn, Steco, British Clearing and Nova Machinery and all the original patterns and templates used for so many years.
Today, Kinghorn do not manufacture machinery but concentrate on supplying service maintenance and spare parts to their many customers. On the Service side, Kinghorn employ their own team of specialist site Service Engineers who have between them over 60 years of experience in repairing and servicing Kinghorn Machinery.
Spare parts are manufactured from original factory drawings using specified materials therefore ensuring quality, strength and durability. Most are made in house so delivery times are kept to a minimum and pricing remains competitive.
On site Service and Repair of other makes of Sheet Metal Working machinery, including Pre Planned Maintenance and Service Contracts is now the staple diet of Kinghorn Machinery, tackling many and varied contracts from simple Guillotine blade changes to complete rebuild/remanufacture of Presses etc.
Breakdown calls take an ever increasing role in the business of Kinghorn Machinery, this is where our skilled workforce are used to their utmost whether it is an Electrical, Hydraulic or Mechanical breakdown. Kinghorn also undertake 'Thorough and Periodic Inspections' as part of the PUWER Legislation and offer a specialist 'Maintenance Record Service' as part of the above legislation. Health Checks are undertaken on Machine Tools, Saws and Presses; they all form the backbone of a very successful company.
